Johnny's Challenger

Johnny is from Portales, New Mexico and he owns this 1970 Dodge Challenger. He came to me to put together a chassis for him from an old back half and a new front clip. We ended up mating the two together seamlessly and created a pretty neat tubular chassis for this car using 2” X 3” main rails and mostly 1 5/8” round tubing for the rear frame and cage. After finalizing the geometry for the front end we installed a ladder bar and coil-over suspension for the rear, along with a newly built 9-inch ford housing. We then moved on to mounting the motor plate, mid plate and trans mount for the drivetrain. Then we finished up this phase of the project by building all the aluminum floor panels and wheel tubs. Last we heard Johnny was fitting this car for a twin turbo powerplant; can’t wait to see this one finished. We will post photos of the cars progression as Johnny finishes the build.
